NPFL: Boboye is hopeful Akwa United will not be demoted.

Akwa United head coach, Kennedy Boboye, is optimistic his side will escape relegation at the end of the season.

The Promise Keepers occupy 18th position on the league table with 38 points from 34 matches.

Akwa United have registered 10 wins, eight draws and 16 defeats in this campaign.

Boboye stated that in order to accomplish their goal, his squad will take advantage of points that its relegation-threatened opponents have dropped.

Following his team’s victory over Nasarawa United, Boboye declared, “We will keep looking for a way to avoid the drop.”

“We’ve been fortunate that our main rivals have lost points, giving us a strong foundation on which to gain points at home.”

This weekend, Akwa United will host Ikorodu City in a matchday 35 match.
