Finidi George, the technical adviser for Rivers United, stated that his team’s second-place finish in the 2024-25 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season was due to hard work.
Next year, the Pride of Rivers will also compete in the CAF Champions League.
Finidi stated that while his team met his technical demands, they lost focus, allowing NPFL winners Remo Stars to overtake them in the league standings.
Finidi informed the club’s media, “Our success story this season revolves around hard work.”
“The players reacted; we had that moment, but we lost some momentum in the campaign. Remo Stars were consistent and maintained their lead until the end of the campaign.
“At the beginning of the season, I mentioned that we would secure the continental ticket. Now we are here.”
