Majin Mohammed, the technical adviser for Niger Tornadoes, disclosed that the team’s performance was impacted by their inability to utilize their home ground for most of the season.
Some home matches of the Ikon Allah Boys were played at the Bafo Kontangora Stadium in Minna.
They utilize the Lafia City Stadium in Lafia and the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna as well.
Mohammed stated that the absence of home support and injuries also impacted his team.
“Our season start was promising, but the league is a marathon. Our first mistake was leaving our home ground in Minna; I believe that’s where most of our issues stem from,” Mohammed told the club’s media.
“The absence of home support had a significant impact on us. If you consider the other two teams that played away from home, Sunshine Stars and Lobi Stars faced the same issue. However, we were fortunate due to our high quality.
“Injuries contributed as well, but we thank God we made it through the season.”
On the last day of the season, Niger Tornadoes managed to avoid relegation.
Majin Mohammed’s team ended the 2024-25 NPFL season in 13th place, accumulating 51 points across 38 games.
