NRC restores flood-ravaged rail track in Osogbo ahead of Sallah

A team of engineers has been sent by the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) to the area affected by flooding on the Lagos-Kano narrow gauge in Oshogbo, Osun State.

Due to intense rains on May 17, 2025, the site at km 294+12 poles in the Oke-Onitea area of Osogbo experienced a washout.

NRC states that the remedial work is essential for ensuring safe and continuous train operations for passengers traveling along the Osogbo, Ilorin, and Minna corridors during the Eid festivities.
Dr. Kayode Opeifa, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of NRC, expressed regret over the washout in a statement by Callistus Unyimadu, the Deputy Director of Public Relations.
