Olubadan promises to get involved in Igboho’s conflict with the Nigerian government.

Oba Rashidi Ladoja, the Olubadan of Ibadan, declared that he would step in to help Yoruba nation activist Sunday Adeyemo, also called Sunday Igboho, with his ongoing dispute with the Federal Government.

This was said by Oba Ladoja at a private meeting with Igboho at his Bodija home in Ibadan, where they talked about the activist’s struggles and the future.

Journalists had access to a statement released by Igboho’s media office that included this information.

According to the statement, the roughly 40-minute meeting discussed the growing threats posed by bandits in some areas of Kwara State as well as insecurity in the South West.

According to BASEMEDIA, Igboho was listed as wanted and his accounts were frozen during the administration of the late President Muhammadu Buhari due to claims that he was hoarding weapons and ammunition.

Then, on July 1, 2021, DSS agents, supported by Nigerian Army soldiers, allegedly broke into his Soka home, killing two aides and detaining thirteen During his remarks, Igboho praised Oba Ladoja as “a leader deeply loved by people across Ibadan, Yorubaland, and beyond” and congratulated him on his accession to the throne.

He also emphasized that peace and security are necessary for significant development and stated his willingness to work with the Federal Government to guarantee effective security in the South West.

Since he was the previous governor of Oyo State, Olubadan has been like a father figure to me. I applaud Kabiyesi’s leadership abilities, modesty, and lasting impact.

“Ibadanland and all of Yorubaland will undoubtedly benefit from his rule as Olubadan in terms of peace, unity, and development,” Igboho said.
