PDP youths ask Atiku to resign and serve as a mentor to future leaders.

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has been encouraged by the Gombe State PDP Youth to resign from active political competition and take on an advising role in determining the direction of the party.

This was said by the group’s chairman, Jamilu Adamu, during a press conference on Thursday in Gombe.

He commended Atiku’s important contributions to the party and Nigeria’s democratic growth, characterizing him as a revered statesman with a notable legacy in the nation’s political history.

Adamu emphasized the PDP’s need for generational renewal and counseled its leadership to provide young people more chances to join and make significant contributions to the party’s reconstruction.

“We think the PDP can still gain from His Excellency Atiku Abubakar’s experience and wisdom if it is used to guide and assist up-and-coming leaders,” Adamu stated.

He stated the call was not intended as an attack on the former vice president, rather a respected suggestion for strategic repositioning of the party.

Adamu stressed the importance of generational renewal for the PDP and advised its leadership to give young people additional opportunities to join and contribute significantly to the party’s reconstruction.

“We think the PDP can still gain from His Excellency Atiku Abubakar’s experience and wisdom if it is used to guide and assist up-and-coming leaders,” Adamu said.
