The National Coordinator of the South-South Elders Forum in Rivers State, Anabs Sara-Igbe, has expressed joy over the return of Governor Sim Fubara, noting that the people of the state are pleased to have him back. Speaking on Thursday during an interview on *Prime Time*, a programme on Arise Television, Sara-Igbe said Rivers State had been at a standstill during the governor’s absence.
He explained that Governor Fubara had ongoing projects across all 23 local government areas of the state, but these were halted for the past six months. BASEMEDIA recalls that President Bola Tinubu suspended Fubara, his deputy, and state lawmakers in March following the declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers. The emergency rule was lifted on Wednesday, leading to Fubara’s reinstatement.
Reacting to the development, Sara-Igbe said: “Rivers people are very happy to have their governor back because the state was at a complete standstill while he was away. Sim Fubara is known as *Mr. Project*—he has projects running in every local government area. Unfortunately, for six months they were all abandoned, and we still don’t know what the Sole Administrator, Ibok Ekwe Ibas, did with the state’s funds.”
