According to the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP), Nigerians will choose the outcome of the 2027 election.
According to Naija News, CUPP National Secretary Chief Peter Ameh stated that despite purportedly faulty results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Peter Obi, the former Labour Party presidential candidate, received more votes in the 2023 election.
In a statement released on Friday, Chief Ameh denounced the mindset of Nigerian politicians, which is motivated by selfish interests.
In fewer than six months of campaigning, Peter Obi, speaking on behalf of the Labour Party, accomplished amazing achievement, even though the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced faulty results.
Obi received more than 50% of the vote in seven states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and more than 25% in sixteen states, without the support of governors or the aid of electoral manipulation apparatus. He stated, “His dominance in important urban centers, such as the FCT, Rivers, and Lagos, demonstrated the strength of a people’s coalition bound by a common vision for change.”
The most recent 2023 election shown the ability of the people to bring about political change, the former National Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) emphasized.
“This alliance of common Nigerians—youth, laborers, businesspeople, and professionals—showed that the people’s will can overthrow the established political elite. The 2023 elections revealed the weaknesses of inept and heartless politicians who are incapable of governing for the common good and whose sole goal is to seize power.
These politicians, often shielded by the so-called ‘federal might’, have relied on manipulation and defection to cling to power. Governors and elected officials frequently jump from one party to another, betraying the trust of their constituents while hiding behind the façade of political strategy.
“This lack of discipline and accountability has eroded public confidence in governance, but the people are more determined than ever to put an end to this cycle of underperformance and opportunism,” he added
