Former Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, supports the LP’s governorship candidate in the upcoming Anambra State election, George Moghalu. However, Obi emphasized that the electorate will choose the next governor. A statement from Obidient Movement National Coordinator Tanko Yunusa relayed Obi’s message: “A man is known by his words and actions; that is called integrity. I will support my party candidate, George Moghalu… but my conscience says so.” He stressed that the final decision rests solely on the shoulders of Anambarians. The statement noted that Peter Obi defied rain and bad roads to walk in solidarity with Moghalu, and “Obidients” are present to offer support. The final appeal to Anambarians was to exercise their democratic right and “Vote wisely!” The statement concluded: “A New Nigeria is POssible.”
