An investigation into the attack on former Attorney-General of the Federation Abubakar Malami’s convoy in Birnin Kebbi has been confirmed by the Kebbi State Police Command.
According to Basemedia, Malami was returning from a visit of condolence in the state capital on Monday when his convoy was attacked. According to reports, several cars were damaged, and some of his supporters were hurt.
Commissioner of Police Bello Sani stated that no suspects had been taken into custody as of yet following an emergency security meeting with service chiefs.reports that Malami’s convoy came under attack on Monday while he was returning from a condolence visit in the state capital. Several vehicles were reportedly damaged, while some of his supporters sustained injuries.
Speaking after an emergency security meeting with service chiefs, Commissioner of Police Bello Sani said no suspects had been arrested yet.
Although we have started looking into the attack, no one has been taken into custody as of yet. “This meeting was called by the governor to assess the security situation,” he told reporters.
Sani explained that the violence erupted around the GRA area and involved rival political supporters in violation of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) campaign regulations.
He revealed that in order to stop more political violence in the state, leaders of the relevant parties would be urged and invited.
