Preliminary report on Abuja-Kaduna train accident ready in 23 days – NSIB

The preliminary report on the Abuja-Kaduna Train derailment at Asham Train Station has been released by the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB).

In addition to revealing this during a press event, NSIB Director General Capt. Alex Badeh Jr. reported that 12 of the 583 passengers on board the train prior to the crash had injuries.

The DG explained that an Investigator-in-Charge (IIC) has been appointed to lead the probe, working alongside relevant stakeholders, including the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NLC).

According to him, “the team has already taken evidence-protection measures, such as securing the site and preserving critical data, including CCTV footage and other materials that could help determine the cause of the derailment.”
