Jacob Ramsey, a midfielder for Aston Villa, is close to joining Newcastle in a deal valued at around £40 million.
The teams were in advanced negotiations over the planned deal for the 24-year-old, according to a BBC Sport report on Wednesday.Now that a basic agreement has been achieved, only the last details need to be finalized.After being approved, Ramsey will finish the requirements for the move to St. James’ Park, including a medical examination.
At 12:30 BST on Saturday, Villa will play their first Premier League match against Newcastle.
Ramsey, a former England Under-21 player, was a mainstay for Unai Emery’s team last season and has scored 17 goals in 167 games for Villa since making his senior debut in 2019.
