The camp of Akwa United, who have recently been relegated, is now in mourning after the sudden death of their Team Manager, Sir Emmanuel Udoh, who died in his sleep on Saturday, May 31.
Mr. Mfon Patrick, the Media Officer of Akwa United, issued a statement noting that the late Udoh was a former player for Nigeria’s Green Eagles, Calabar Rovers, and Bendel Insurance, where he played as a right-back.
He was nicknamed “Bullet” by his fans and admirers because of his powerful kicks. Upon his retirement from active football, he worked as the Akwa Ibom State Football Association (FA) Secretary for thirteen years before his appointment as the Team Manager of Akwa United Football Club.
