Representatives’ responses to the body discovered at the National Assembly complex

Reports about the Sunday discovery of an unidentified body close to the National Assembly Complex have been clarified by the House of Representatives. According to BASEMEDIA, the deceased’s body was discovered inside a red Peugeot 406 that was parked close to the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, or SGF, near the Annex Building Gate.

The clarification comes after the official report from the Nigeria Police Force, the case’s lead investigative body, according to House spokesman Rep. Akin Rotimi Jr. In order to avoid speculation, he continued, the House sought to keep the public informed.

The deceased, thought to have been a laborer at a construction site within the complex, was discovered inside the vehicle at approximately nine in the morning, according to Rotimi, who cited the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, of the National Assembly Division.

“The body was already in a highly decomposed state when it was found on the back seat, sleeping.

“Efforts are underway to determine the deceased’s identity and notify the family,” Rotimi stated, adding that the police had moved the remains to the mortuary.
In order to guarantee a comprehensive investigation, he continued, the National Assembly is collaborating closely with pertinent security and emergency agencies.
