Oladimeji Fabiyi, the former director of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign, has claimed that the Nigerian judiciary is contributing to the decline of democracy in the nation.
This accusation was made by Fabiyi on Monday during an interview with Arise Television.
In response to the results of the recently held local government elections in Rivers State, Fabiyi declared that every aspect of the state—from the election of local governments to the appointment of the sole administrator—was wholly unlawful.
Reacting to the outcome of the just concluded local governments’ elections in Rivers State, Fabiyi said everything in the state, from the appointment of the Sole Administrator to the local governments’ elections, was completely illegal.
I want to start by stating that I disagree with everything that occurred in Rivers State.
“You know, all of these entertainers were involved in what happened in Rivers. Additionally, they refer to something as script. It was a screenplay.
Additionally, there are two groups of people in the PDP today. There are two groups of people: those who are knowledgeable about their field and those who are not.
“This nation needs to take itself seriously. There is a serious threat to democracy. We expressed and stated that everything that has occurred in Rivers State over the past six months is unlawful.
