Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has come under fire from Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, for denouncing the way last Saturday’s local government election in Rivers State was conducted.
Atiku is a perpetual presidential campaigner, according to Olayinka, who called his comment “nonsensical.”
He said that Atiku shouldn’t criticize the outcome of the Rivers State local government election since he lacked the guts to denounce Deborah’s murder in Sokoto.
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) won three LGAs, while the All Progressives Congress (APC) won twenty.
Only the APC and PDP election results were made public.
The council chairmen who prevailed in the 23 LGAs received 2,028,871 votes in total.
