Sam Amadi says Tinubu’s trip to Europe proves he shouldn’t be re-elected.

Dr. Sam Amadi, the former chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), has criticized President Bola Tinubu’s “working vacation” trip to Europe.

According to Amadi, it proves the president is not able to handle the demands of the office.

According to BASEMEDIA, Tinubu left Abuja on September 4 to start a 10-day working vacation in Europe as part of his 2025 annual leave, the Presidency said in a statement signed by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy.

The president will return to Nigeria after spending the time between France and the United Kingdom, the statement said.

Amadi claimed that the President and his team were arguing against his reelection in a post on X on Thursday.

“The president and his team are still putting up a compelling argument against his reelection. He no longer has the strength to put in the amount of work needed for that office. He enjoys and most likely requires a lot of sleep,” Amadi wrote.
