Senator Katung denounces new assaults in Kaduna’s southern region.

Senator Sunday Marshall Katung of Southern Kaduna has denounced the resurgence of attacks in a number of local communities.

In a statement he issued on Tuesday, the senator said

“Angwan Rimi, Kamar, in the Chawai chiefdom of Kajuru local government area of Kaduna state, was attacked by bandits on August 25, 2025, resulting in seven fatalities and numerous injuries,” he said.

He bemoaned the fact that Wakeh had been the scene of another attack in the Kachia local government’s Agunu District, which left eight people dead and numerous others wounded.

He claimed that homes and other properties in the communities of Wakeh and Gadanaji were also burned.

On Sunday night, bandits once more attacked U/Kaniko, Mile 1, in the Kanikon chiefdom of Jema’a local government, killing a diligent young man named Musa Shock,” he continued.
The senator prayed for the injured people’s quick recovery and offered his condolences to the families who lost loved ones.

He said that the ongoing targeting of defenseless civilians has no place in a civilized society and called the recurrent attacks “heartbreaking and extremely painful.”

Katung urged security forces to protect Nigerians’ lives and property everywhere in the nation.
