Haroun Eze, the imam of Abuja National Mosque, has endorsed Governor Umar Bago of Niger State in his request that sermons be submitted to the government for review.
The first Igbo Imam of the National Mosque said that regulating preaching in the state was a positive step on Monday during an appearance on Arise Television’s “Prime Time” program.
Governor Bago reportedly mandated that preachers in the state submit their sermons for approval before delivering them to their congregations, according to BASEMEDIA.
The government of Niger State is curious about how religious leaders are addressing our social, economic, and security concerns with the general public.
“It should be believed that religious leadership and the advancement of good governance go hand in hand.
According to him, “the Imam, Pastor, or Reverend is distributing knowledge and resources to mold the citizens’ minds and character, which should crystallize into better citizens, governance, relationships, and having peace within one another.”
