Bayo Onanuga, a presidential aide, has accused Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State, and other politicians of conspiring to overthrow President Bola Tinubu because they feel marginalized in the current political environment.
El-Rufai once acknowledged that four years is insufficient for any political office holder to make significant changes, so Onanuga said in a post on X on Monday that it was contradictory for him to be one of those allegedly calling for Tinubu’s removal.
Onanuga cited what he called “clear economic progress” as evidence that President Tinubu has already produced noticeable results in just two years.
Over the past two years, President Tinubu and his team have brought about significant changes in our nation, in contrast to the political underachievers and laggards who previously served as governors of Anambra, Rivers, and Kaduna.
Nigeria is now headed toward prosperity thanks to Tinubu. The world can observe the positive indicators. The All Share Index has increased from 53,000 points to over 140,000 points, the stock market has generated over N26 trillion in new wealth, and foreign reserves have reached their highest level in 44 months,” he wrote.
He went on to say that the administration has achieved balance of payments surpluses, lowered inflation for four consecutive months, increased GDP by N103.5 trillion in two years, and standardized the exchange rate.
