According to British Grime artist Skepta, the time when UK rappers are underappreciated is finished.
“It’s time for British hip-hop artists to receive the recognition they deserve,” he said.
In a recent interview with Link UP TV, Skepta clarified that he had challenged US rappers to a rap war against UK rappers in order to give Grime artists the recognition they so well deserve.
He went on to say that he didn’t mean to make American rappers look bad.
Saying that it’s time for us [UK rappers] to receive the respect we deserve was my challenge to US rappers. Even while I believe it is absolutely conceivable, it wasn’t from a point of believing that we are going to destroy them [US rappers]. “We want respect more than anything else,” he stated.
Drake, meantime, has weighed in on the continuing argument about whether US or UK rap is better, claiming that the UK has the best rappers.
