Ahead of Nigeria’s pivotal 2026 World Cup qualifying match against South Africa, Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has made remarks on striker Victor Osimhen’s absence.
Osimhen suffered an injury against Rwanda and will not play against Bafana Bafana on Tuesday.
During his pre-game interview, Chelle acknowledged to reporters that the Super Eagles consider the Galatasaray attacker.
However, he emphasized that his team must continue to be focused and unaffected by the 26-year-old’s absence.
Osimhen is a well-known and talented player. As I mentioned, I also have a strong team with excellent players. For me, they’re sufficient,” Chelle remarked.
We don’t have time to claim Victor isn’t here or that we may have sobbed in our rooms following his injury because they want to play a fantastic game here once more.
“We’re all together. Though we have a game and are together for tomorrow, we still think about our brother [Osimhen].
