Following a thrilling 3-2 victory over Saudi Arabia, the Nigerian Flying Eagles resumed their campaign at the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup. Nigeria took the lead in the tenth minute thanks to a fantastic header from Nasiru Salihu. A few minutes later, Aliyu Zubairu’s team had another chance to double their lead, but the Saudi goalie stopped Kparobo Ariehi’s goal-bound attempt. On minute 21, Amar Al Yuhaybi of Saudi Arabia equalized. Right-back Amos Ochoche gave the Flying Eagles the lead again in the 38th minute with a shot from inside the area. However, Saudi Arabia equalized five minutes after the interval thanks to a fantastic header from substitute Talal HajiDaniel Bameyi, Nigeria’s captain, scored the game-winning goal from the penalty spot deep into stoppage. With three points from their first two games, the seven-time African champions move up to third place in Group F. With four points, Norway and Colombia are at the top of the standings. On Sunday morning, the Flying Eagles will play their final group match against Colombia.
