As the Transmission Company of Nigeria, or TCN, has stated that the complete power supply will be restored by Thursday, June 19, 2025, at the latest, residents of Kebbi State should be able to enjoy steady energy once more.
Following the collapse of crucial transmission towers along the Kainji–Birnin Kebbi 330kV line, the state has experienced a blackout for about two months.
As previously reported by the DAILY POST, a windstorm caused two more towers to collapse in Galadima Village, Shanga LGA, making the state’s electrical crisis worse.
To keep parts of the state running, limited supply was rerouted from the Shiroro Power Station in Niger State.
Nonetheless, businesses and individuals have been forced to rely significantly on other energy sources, such as solar panels and generators.
According to the TCN’s most recent update, the damaged towers’ repair is currently nearing completion. According to reports, contractors are working nonstop to fulfill the June 19 deadline.
When the Kainji–Birnin Kebbi line is finished, Kebbi will be reconnected to the national grid, bringing steady electricity to residences, businesses, and critical services—especially since demand keeps increasing during the rainy season.
