The APC tells Marafa that since you haven’t recovered from the loss, you can’t sway Tinubu’s votes.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) chapter in Zamfara State has rejected former Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa’s assertion that he helped President Bola Ahmed Tinubu garner one million votes in the 2023 election, calling his remarks meaningless boasting.

Alhaji Tukur Umar Danfulani, the state’s APC chairman, said in a statement released in Gusau on Wednesday that Marafa had no track record of electoral strength and that President Tinubu’s votes in Zamfara came from the party’s respected leaders and structures rather than from specific people.

In actuality, Marafa has not yet bounced back from the 2019 Senate election in which his own constituents voted him out.

He made unfounded statements that had no effect on the election’s outcome, even during the 2023 polls.

Danfulani remarked, “Marafa could not even win elections in his own constituency, much less garner one million votes for President Tinubu.”

“The public’s trust in our party and the leadership of individuals like Senator Abdulaziz Yari, Bello Matawalle, and others who have supported our members have resulted in those votes.”

He also noted that Marafa had become irrelevant in Zamfara politics and that his recent threats to withhold votes in 2027 were unfounded.

Danfulani remarked, “It is absurd that Marafa, who was unable to win his ward or local government, now asserts that he can lower Tinubu’s vote count.”

“In actuality, he is a disgruntled politician who turned to propaganda after failing to land positions.”
