Officers in the Abia State Command have been told by Commissioner of Police Danladi Isa to uphold professionalism, abstain from corruption, and rigorously follow the NPF’s social media guidelines.
Additionally, he has mandated that suspects who are ill must receive immediate medical assistance and that they cannot be held for more than 24 hours for offenses for which they are eligible for bail.
Area Commanders, DPOs, Heads of Departments, and Tactical Commanders were present at the Command’s monthly conference when CP Danladi issued the directive. He cautioned that senior officers would be held vicariously liable for the misdeeds of their subordinates, so they must make sure that officers under them are properly supervised.
In addition, he forbade Point of Sale (PoS) activities on police property and advised officers to safeguard government property, secure their bases, and cooperate with local mayors and the people to effectively combat crime.
While praising the policemen for their commitment to their work, the Commissioner of Police stated that they need to be given more responsibility.
He also acknowledged DSP Maureen Chinaka, the PRO of the Abia Command, for finishing a brief course on New Media Capacity Building in China and for getting an award from the Inspector General of Police.
