Under the direction of His Excellency Malam Umar A. Namadi, FCA, the Jigawa State Executive Council has approved a proposed N75 billion Supplementary Budget for the fiscal year 2025.
This was revealed by Hon. Sagir Musa Ahmad, the State Commissioner of Information for Youth Sports and Culture, during a press briefing on the results of Tuesday’s state executive council meeting.
According to him, the sum was authorized by the state executive council as a 2025 supplemental budget proposal to be submitted to the state house of assembly.
encompassing the 27 Local Government Councils as well as the State Government.
He clarified that the supplemental appropriation was created by the extra revenue and was intended to strengthen priority sectors for sustainable development throughout the state and address new financial needs.
According to him, the sum covered both capital and ongoing expenditures, totaling N17 billion for the 27 Local Government Councils and N58 billion for the state.
According to Hon. Sagir, the additional funding will improve current initiatives and programs in vital areas like infrastructure, agriculture, healthcare, education, and other developmental projects.
According to him, in compliance with budgetary procedures and constitutional provisions, the supplemental budget proposal will be formally presented to the Jigawa State House of Assembly for legislative review and approval.
