The Lagos State Government has declared that on Wednesday, September 3, the second stage of the Ogudu–Ifako Bridge, inward Island, rehabilitation project will get underway.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Transportation Commissioner Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi revealed this and reassured drivers that a thorough traffic management plan has been implemented to facilitate travel and lessen congestion while the repairs are being made.
He claims that in order to guarantee that the current phase is carried out with the least amount of disturbance and finished as quickly as possible, lessons learned from the project’s earlier phase led to a careful examination of diversion tactics.
Osiyemi gave details of the new traffic advisory, stating that most of the route will be free of traffic for cars traveling toward Oshodi or Victoria Island from the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway and Lagos Toll Gate.
However, traffic will be rerouted into one lane of the three-lane carriageway about 50 meters before the site and returned to full access 50 meters after the Ogudu–Ifako Bridge construction zone.
In order to get to Oshodi, he suggested that drivers take the Ojota Slip Road, which connects Ikorodu Road, inward Anthony (by Taxi Park), and then continue on to Oshodi.
