The Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, has imposed a fine of N3.5 million on El-Kanemi Warriors for security breaches during their match against Ikorodu City.
The NPFL has also ordered the closure of the El-Kanemi Warriors Stadium in Maiduguri to fans for the remainder of the season.
reports that El-Kanemi Warriors supporters damaged Ikorodu City’s vehicle after the match.
During the game, club supporters also tossed objects onto the playing field.
The club must respond in writing, either by accepting the decision or by choosing to appear before a disciplinary panel.
Due to security failings, the NPFL has recently tightened its crackdown on clubs.
