The S’South Zonal Caretaker Committee is instructed by PDP NWC to manage the Cross River chapter.

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has instructed its South-South Zonal Caretaker Committee to immediately assume control of the party’s activities in Cross River State. In a statement released by the National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, the NWC mandated the caretaker committee to manage the state chapter’s affairs until the congress slated for Saturday, September 27.

Ologunagba explained that the directive, which came after Thursday’s NWC meeting, followed the expiration of the tenure of the elected Cross River State Executive Committee on September 18. He added that the move was necessary to prevent any leadership gap until a new state executive is elected.

According to him, the South-South Zonal Caretaker Committee, chaired by Chief Emmanuel Ogidi, has been tasked to collaborate with the NWC in conducting the 2025 congress to elect fresh leadership for the Cross River chapter on September 27.

He further urged leaders, stakeholders, and members of the PDP in Cross River to remain united, committed, and focused on advancing the interests and progress of the party in the state.
