The Super Falcons’ success could inspire other national teams, particularly the Super Eagles, when they begin their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying in the upcoming weeks, according to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
Following a meeting at the NFF Secretariat in Abuja on Tuesday, July 29, the committee commended the President for awarding the players and officials with housing prizes, financial presents, and national honors.The NFF described the gesture as a morale booster that would inspire greater participation of girls in football and reinvigorate women’s football in Nigeria
The NFF assigned its Secretariat the responsibility of guaranteeing seamless logistics and advised comprehensive preparation for the pivotal matches against South Africa and Rwanda.
The NFF was pleased with the Super Eagles B team’s home preparations for the African Nations Championship (CHAN), which begins in East Africa on August 2.
In their group matches, the team, which is presently in Zanzibar, will play Senegal and Sudan.
The committee also called on the coaching staff to improve preparations for the FIFA U20 World Cup in Chile after reviewing the Flying Eagles’ recent second-place result at the WAFU B U20 Championship in Ghana.
