Eight teams advanced from the hotly contested group round of the 2025 Gwagwalada Football League (GFL), which has begun its second round. The Council FA reports that Medical Strikers Feeders and Ejiwumi FC advanced from Group B, while Desert Warriors and Excel FC earned their positions from Group A. NIMMA FC and Inspirational Sports FC advanced from Group D, while Sheikhandam FC and Bocknor Football Academy won in Group C. 26 teams from Gwagwalada and the surrounding areas throughout the FCT competed in this year’s competition, which the organizers revealed was one of the most competitive in the league’s two-decade history.Speaking about the development, Patrick Ngwaogu, the Chairman of the Organising Committee, said that the eight qualifying teams will be regrouped into two groups of four, from which the top two in each group will qualify for the final. “We are grateful to all 26 teams for their passion and participation. The Super 8 stage promises even more exciting moments for fans and players alike,” he said, adding that the date for the Super 8 matches will be announced soon. The first round involved over 75 matches, which attracted sizable crowds and demonstrated the growing interest in grassroots football in the area.
