🗳️ African Elections a “Disgrace,” Says Timi Frank
Political activist and former APC Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Timi Frank, has vehemently condemned the recent elections in Tanzania, Cameroon, and Ivory Coast, labeling them as “sham exercises” and a “disgrace to the African continent.”
In a Thursday statement, Frank argued that these events were not genuine “elections” but rather “selections” characterized by manipulation, intimidation, and political repression. He lamented that African leaders are subverting the democratic process through fraud to stay in power, warning that this culture of rigging and violence could lead to widespread civil unrest and military coups across the continent,International Non-Recognition: Frank urged the United Nations, the US, and the EU to refuse to recognize or congratulate the outcomes of these “fraudulent” polls.Targeted Sanctions,He called on the US and EU to impose decisive, targeted sanctions on the leaders and their associates responsible for destroying their countries’ democratic processes.
A Warning to Nigeria: The activist also issued a caution to Nigeria’s INEC and security agencies, insisting that the 2027 general elections must avoid the manipulation seen elsewhere, warning that any attempt to subvert the people’s will “will be strongly resisted.”
Frank’s strong criticism comes as the mentioned countries have reportedly experienced political crises following their respective elections.
