Tinubu orders a review of military operations against terrorists in the Borno massacre.

In order to eradicate terrorist organizations nationwide, President Bola Tinubu has instructed the Armed Forces to examine current security operations and increase the use of cutting-edge military hardware and surveillance equipment.

The order came after Boko Haram militants recently attacked the Darajamal community in Borno State’s Bama Local Government Area, killing numerous soldiers and civilians.

In a Monday condolence message, Vice President Kashim Shettima called the incident a “deep loss to the state and the nation.”

He reaffirmed the administration’s resolve to combat terrorism and conveyed Tinubu’s dedication to seeing that the victims receive justice.

I offer the Nigerian military, the people of Borno State, and Governor Babagana Umara Zulum my deepest sympathies on the loss of our countrymen.

In a statement released by his spokesperson Stanley Nkwocha, Shettima stated, “These deaths have left the entire nation in collective grief, but we are confident that justice will be served.”

Governor Zulum had already paid a visit to the impacted area on Saturday to offer condolences to the troops and their families who had been impacted by the attack.

Shettima added that Tinubu has instructed all security agencies to step up and reevaluate their operational plans and authorized the purchase of additional drones.

Additionally, he reaffirmed the federal government’s interest in creating state police, emphasizing the necessity of localized security units to address unique issues in certain states.

In addition to expressing sympathy for the victims, the vice president promised Borno and other insecure states that the federal government would continue to support them.
