As Nigeria ramps up preparations for Match Days 7 and 8 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup African qualifiers, the Super Eagles’ camp in Uyo has come alive.
The team and the larger football community are growing more confident as players continue to arrive ahead of Saturday’s match against Rwanda.Early Monday arrivals included team captain William Ekong, goalie Amas Obasogie, and defenders Bruno Onyemaechi and Felix Agu, the latter of whom had just returned from a strong showing at the Unity Cup Tournament in London.
More well-known players soon arrived, including Wilfred Ndidi, Frank Onyeka, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Ola Aina, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey, and Simon Moses, who most recently scored and assisted for Paris FC.First-choice goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, forwards Samuel Chukwueze, Tolu Arokodare, and Cyriel Dessers, as well as offensive players Ademola Lookman, Victor Osimhen, and Raphael Onyedika, are anticipated to join the team as further reinforcements.
