In the first north London derby played outside of the United Kingdom, Tottenham defeated Arsenal 1-0 on Thursday thanks to a goal from Pape Matar Sarr from the halfway line.
In the 45th minute, Sarr robbed Myles Lewis-Skelly just inside the Arsenal half, putting Raya at fault once more after he had previously been trapped in no-man’s land twice as inswinging corners struck the post.
When he glanced up and saw Raya stranded far beyond his penalty area, the Spurs midfielder let go to score outrageously from fifty yards out.Despite being billed as a preseason “friendly,” the fierce rivals showed no affection on the field.
