The Nigeria international is currently a free agent following his departure from KAA Gent, a team in the Belgian Pro League.
Former German U-21 coach, Stefan Kuntz is pushing for the centre-back to join Hamburg.
As reported by the German news source Sport BILD, discussions between Hamburg and Torunarigha’s representatives are already underway.
The 27-year-old began his career in Germany with Hertha Berlin and transferred to Gent in 2022.
Since leaving Hertha Berlin, he has been continuously associated with a transfer to the Bundesliga.
