Fermin Lopez, a Barcelona star, has given an explanation for why he chose to stay with the team rather than join Chelsea during the summer transfer window.
The Blues have expressed interest in Lopez throughout the summer transfer window.
However, he ultimately decided not to leave the Blaugrana for the West London Premier League team.
The offer from Chelsea? “Remaining at Barça has always been my top priority,” Lopez was cited by TouchlineX as stating.
“I arrived here at the age of twelve. Although it’s always good to have another team show interest in you, I always thought I would excel here and stay at Barça.
In 2029, Lopez’s Barcelona contract will come to an end.
Hansi Flick, the manager of Barcelona, had made remarks regarding Chelsea’s interest in acquiring Lopez this summer.
