Transfer: Man Utd in talks to sign Ekitike

According to ESPN, Manchester United have begun preliminary discussions with the representatives of Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitike. Red Devils manager Ruben Amorim is looking to add attacking players before his first full season at Old Trafford. United have already missed out on Liam Delap, as the young English striker opted for a move to Chelsea from Ipswich Town. Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyökeres is also leaning towards a transfer to Arsenal, another Premier League rival. Ekitike, 22, is being tracked by Arsenal, Liverpool, and Chelsea after netting 15 goals in the Bundesliga last season. United are still pursuing a deal for Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford.

After his team netted only 44 goals in the league — with only Everton and the three relegated clubs (Southampton, Leicester, and Ipswich) scoring fewer — Amorim is eager to bolster his squad with more goal contributors
