Transfer: ‘Very clever move’ – Ex-Chelsea player Tore Flo praises Enzo Maresca’s team for unexpected target

Former Chelsea striker, Tore Andre Flo, has hailed the club for making the move to sign AC Milan goalkeeper, Mike Maignan.

He described it as a very smart move, adding that the Frenchman will improve the Blues squad as he is better than the current number one, Robert Sanchez.

The former Chelsea striker told Metro that getting the France international should be done this summer.

To me, it sounds like a good signing. If there were any doubts about Robert Sanchez, a club like Chelsea would immediately enhance the squad. In my opinion, it sounds extremely intelligent,” he stated.

On Tuesday, reports from west London indicated that the Blues have ceased their interest in the French number one.

The Blues aimed to secure the goalkeeper for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup starting Sunday, but they did not fulfill AC Milan’s €30 million asking price.

Reports indicate that Chelsea could only provide an offer of €21 million.
