Viktor Gyökeres, a striker for Sporting CP, has expressed to the club’s president Frederico Varandas that he feels heartbroken and wishes to depart from the Portuguese champions during this summer transfer window.
This was disclosed by football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano in a post on his X account on Tuesday morning.
Romano states that the Sweden international does not plan to play for the club again
He tweeted: “Viktor Gyökeres has already told Sporting president Varandas about his decision to leave; he has no intention of playing for the club again.
“Gyökeres desires a new chapter; he feels heartbroken after the exit pact and does not expect to return to training, as @abolapt reports.”
This summer, there have been connections between Gyokeres and a departure from Sporting.
The 27-year-old has been associated with Arsenal, Manchester United, and numerous other European clubs.
In 2023, he transferred from Coventry City to Sporting.
