The Galatasaray forward Victor Osimhen has voiced his happiness after setting a new club record and clinching the Turkish Cup on Wednesday.
The 26-year-old scored two goals as Galatasaray triumphed over Trabzonspor with a 3-0 victory in the Turkish Cup final.
Osimhem’s two goals mean he has netted a total of 35 this season, earning him a place in the history of Galatasaray
The Nigerian surpassed the long-held record of 34 goals for Galatasaray, previously set by former player Mario Jardel. In a post-match interview, Osimhen expressed gratitude toward his teammates for their support. He specifically acknowledged Yunus Akgun’s impact in the match. “While the record is undoubtedly significant, my heartfelt thanks go out to my teammates. In particular, today Yunus [Akgun] was very unifying,” Osimhen said to Galatasaray’s website.
