Joe Cole, a former winger for Chelsea, has predicted that Paris Saint-Germain will win this season’s UEFA Champions League championship.
According to Cole, the French Ligue 1 winners are headed for this season’s European Premier League title.
After PSG secured their spot in the Champions League semifinals, the Englishman made a statement.
Remember how PSG defeated Aston Villa 5–4 on aggregate to earn a spot in the Champions League last four?
Last week, Luis Enrique’s team won the opening leg of the quarterfinal in Paris 3-1.
However, on Tuesday night at Villa Park, they lost the second leg to Aston Villa 3-2.
Barcelona, who overcame Dortmund in both legs, will now play Inter Milan or Bayern Munich in the semifinals, while PSG will now play Arsenal or Real Madrid.
“We all remember the PSG side of a few years ago,” Cole stated while speaking on TNT Sports.
“You can’t win a tournament like this playing like that, even though they were winning league titles.”
The PSG team deserves praise for banding together and declaring they were taking a different approach.
“They are all headed in the right direction, and I sincerely hope they win. I do. I’m going all out.
