Inter Milan star Marcus Thuram has identified the only two players currently better than Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal in world football. Thuram and Yamal scored during the UEFA Champions League semi-final first leg, which ended in a 3-3 draw at Camp Nou on Wednesday. Yamal’s first-half goal made him the youngest player to score in a Champions League semi-final, breaking Kylian Mbappe’s record set while playing for Real Madrid.
After the game, Thuram was asked if he considered Yamal to be the best player in the world at the moment.
The Frenchman responded by insisting that Mbappe and Paris Saint-Germain’s Ousmane Dembele are better than Yamal.
“No… The best player in the world is French,” Thuram was quoted by @TouchlineX as saying.
“And the second best too. After that, Lamine Yamal… The best players are Dembélé and Mbappé.”
Meanwhile, both Inter and Barcelona will meet in the Champions League semi-final second leg at San Siro next week.
