Before the Champions League next season, UEFA is probably going to implement a significant regulation modification.
In a redesigned system, a 36-team league phase was included this season.
Instead of ranking each side separately, it did so in the same group.
While the following 16 teams competed in the play-offs for a spot in the next round, the top eight clubs advanced directly to the round of 16.
According to the current regulations, the top eight clubs are assured of hosting the second leg of their final 16 games.
However, that rule does not apply when it gets to the quarter-finals or semi-finals.
And there has been some criticism over the fact that Arsenal will play the second leg of their clash with Real Madrid at the Bernabeu.
The Gunners finished third in the league table, while Madrid ended up in 11th.
But according to the Daily Mail, UEFA will deliberate on whether they should change that next season.
