Less than three years after starting regular daily operations, ValueJet has finalized plans to open three more routes from its hub in Lagos to Cotonou, Benin Republic; Accra, Ghana; and Malabo, Equatorial Guinea.
On May 15, 2025, the airline began direct flights to Banjul, The Gambia, from Lagos, kicking off its regional operations and intensifying rivalry in the area.
Given how well the airline is performing on the route, the carrier’s entry on the Banjul route has freed up and liberalized the market.The Managing Director of ValueJet, Capt. Omololu Dapo Majekodunmi said, “Our goal is to make air connectivity on the West Coast and indeed Africa seamless, comfortable, affordable and a refreshing experience. With the launch of our Cotonou, Accra, and Malabo services in the near future, we are prepared to take on the challenge and begin the second phase of our regional activities.
