Major General Warrah Idris, a new commander, has assumed leadership of Operation FANSAN YAMMA (OPFY) in Zamfara State.
According to a release by Captain David Adewusi, the Media Information Officer of the operation, his appointment happened after he was moved from the Defence Department of Transformation and Innovation.
The ceremony for the change of command took place on Monday, at the Theatre Headquarters in Gusau, Zamfara State.
Air Vice Marshal Abubakar Abdullahi, the outgoing Acting Theatre Commander, expressed gratitude to the officers, soldiers, and civilian staff for their assistance during the time he served.
He stated that the successes achieved were only possible because of collaboration and professional conduct. Abdullahi urged them to provide the same support to the person taking his place as he transitions to his new position at the Nigerian Air Force Headquarters as Chief of Policy and Plans.
The statement noted that the event included the signing of the handover documents and the symbolic presentation of the command flag.
