Kalidou Koulibaly, the defender for Al-Hilal, has disclosed what Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen said to him when he attempted to persuade him to join the Saudi Arabian team.
When Koulibaly and Osimhen were teammates at Napoli, they were teammates.
Osimhen joined the Turkish champions on a permanent deal from Napoli during the summer transfer window after spending the previous season on loan at Galatasaray.
Despite being linked to Al-Hilal multiple times during the summer, the Nigerian international ultimately chose to sing for Galatasaray and declined a move to the club.
“I tried to explain to Osimhen that the perception of football in Saudi Arabia was wrong, but he told me why he chose Galatasaray,” Koulibaly stated in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“I was honest with Osimhen about the situation in Arabia, stating that our tournament was being evaluated from an incorrect or constrained standpoint. Cristiano Ronaldo is the first of many elite players present.
Osimhen informed me that Istanbul had high aspirations and enthusiastically embraced him and his family. He’s decided for himself. The Senegalese remarked, “I hope the best for him.”
