Daniel Bameyi, the captain of the Flying Eagles, stated that the players are eager for another victory against Morocco in the 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.
On Thursday evening, Aliyu Zubairu’s team won their opening match in Cairo against Tunisia, with a score of 2-0.
Auwal Ibrahim, playing in midfield, netted the decisive goal in minute 38.
On Sunday, the Flying Eagles will face Morocco in their second Group B match at Cairo’s June 30 Stadium.
Bameyi expressed their hope to win and achieve first place in the group.
“It’s time to move on to the next match. “We aspire to win and lead our group as we aim to qualify for the World Cup and secure victory in the tournament,” the Bayelsa United centre-back stated to reporters.
In their first match, Morocco beat Kenya 3-2.
