Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Abdullahi Yusuf Atah, has stated that the Presidential Villa will not be vacant in 2027, hinting that President Bola Tinubu will return for a second term.
Responding to claims that some members of the APC, PDP, and Labour Party alleged the North had withdrawn its support for Tinubu, Atah dismissed such assertions as unfounded.
In a statement released by his media aide, Seyi Olorunsola, the minister described the reports as a campaign of distortion and falsehood orchestrated by political opponents unhappy with the outcome of the last general election.
Atah said the narrative was not only false but also an insult to the genuine feelings of northerners who have benefited from President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. He emphasized that there is no vacancy in Aso Rock come 2027.
He described the claim that the North had turned against Tinubu as a deliberate attempt to sow division, incite regional bias, and weaken national unity.
According to him, President Tinubu’s administration has accelerated key infrastructure projects across northern Nigeria, further strengthening support for his leadership.
Atah also revealed that Islamic clerics, traditional rulers, religious leaders, and civil society groups in the North have declared their support for Tinubu’s 2027 ambition.
He cautioned northerners not to be deceived by the “false rhetoric of failed and retired politicians” who, he said, are only seeking to regain access to public funds.
